Spain Park High School is a 362,000 square foot campus consisting of 2 main buildings.  The main education building, a concrete beam and slab structure with a light-gage steel truss roof, houses over 100 classrooms and laboratories.  The second building houses 2 gymnasiums, a wrestling arena, weight conditioning rooms, 3 band practice rooms, a 550-seat theatrical auditorium and a cafeteria.  The roof of this structure is supported by long span joist and joist girders.

Briarwood Christian School

The renovation and addition to Briarwood Christian School consisted of converting an existing gymnasium into a fine arts auditorium and adding a new gymnasium/field house adjacent to the existing gym.  Renovations to the gym included removing portions of the existing load bearing walls, adding new steel framing to support ends of existing long span roof joists, and adding two new framed floor areas on each side of the new auditorium for classrooms and storage space.

The new 2-story gymnasium/field house consists of a 20,000 square foot lower level on grade and a 20,000 square foot framed floor.  The floor framing consists of a composite concrete slab and steel beam system supported by steel columns.  The new gym roof is framed with single pitched top chord underslung long span steel joists.  The foundations consist of conventional spread footings.
