Design-Build

Design-Build is a construction project delivery system where the design and construction aspects are contracted with a single entity, usually a contractor known as the design-builder.  Design-Build focuses on combining the project delivery process in order to streamline the traditional design-bid-build environment.

The compression of time is only one important aspect of the implementation of this system.  Other attributes include contractor input on scheduling, budgeting and structural system selection. The design team can consult with the contractor throughout the design process.
