Turning the Key to Productivity

Projects typically have their fair share of challenges along the way. The key is finding the right team to mitigate and resolve these challenges as they arise and still maximize productivity. Maintaining streamlined communication between design team partners is key. When you have multiple consultants and multiple contractors, it is imperative to maintain clear and efficient communication lines between all parties involved on the project. Many issues can arise when communication lines between design team partners are blurred, creating misunderstanding, misinterpretation, and frustration while working on a project together.
One recent practice we have implemented to promote productivity includes the use of Revit BIM 360. BIM 360 allows for the design and development of multiple structures between multiple consultants to create an accurate and constructible design. Using this software, all consultants on a project are able to share and view model updates in real time.
In a typical workflow, model updates are only shared with other disciplines when copies of the model are manually distributed and downloaded. It is only through the Revit BIM 360 method that milestones are met for the fast-track design schedules required on many of our projects. This is a result of Revit BIM 360 being housed on a single cloud-based hub, allowing all consultants to view live model updates instantly, fostering efficiency and productivity for each party involved. This type of work-sharing increases productivity for each consultant therefore they receive live updates, which allows for a timely review and delivery of coordination and critical feedback.
Maximizing productivity across the design team is crucial to maintaining the project schedule from design to construction. Using Revit BIM 360 is just one of many ways we maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency when working with multiple consultants on projects. Our engineers prioritize client needs and deadlines for each project. As a result, we are always looking for new innovative solutions and methods to increase our productivity.
